Another Wednesday!

I am really enjoying our face to face classes. I wish we weren’t running through the semester so quickly. Creating our own wiki for our school was instructive. My librarian has wanted to use blogs and wikis in her curriculum and now I have an idea of how she can use them along with some excitement!

I. too, think it is great to use this emerging technology of wikis and blogs with students. Imagine what these digital natives could teach us once we design learning opportunities for them to use it!

A number of times throughout the course of our graduate studies, I have heard mention that we could learn more from the students that we can teach them - particularly as it relates to technology.

Why not let students take the lead. What better way for them to take ownership of a lesson, than to teach. We could set the framework - subject, requirements, etc., and they could teach us the best way to learn and/or implement the content using technology.

Imagine students coming up with a rubric and examples of "A" quality work. I'm thinking that students would love this type of attention/assignment, particularly in the elementary and middle school age bracket.

Or, perhaps, this type of role reversal could be implemented after students learn a particular technology, and they are paired with other students to create some multi-media presentation on a particular topic. Great opportunities for collaborative learning.
